Terms of service
The agreement between you and Seventide: what you get, what it costs, how to cancel and your rights.
Version 1.0, effective 15 October 2026. These terms cover the Seventide app (app.seventide.app) and Seventide subscriptions. Please read them before you subscribe. You can save or print a copy at any time from seventide.app/terms.
Key points
- Who we are. Seventide is run by Pro Dev Dynamics Ltd, a UK company. You can email us at support@seventide.app.
- Price. The Family plan costs £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year. After a death has been recorded, you can move to the Archive plan at £1.99 a month. All prices include VAT. One subscription covers the whole family workspace.
- Free trial. You get 14 days free, with no card needed. The trial does not turn into a paid subscription on its own. If nobody subscribes, the workspace becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically every month or every year until it is cancelled. We remind you before each yearly renewal.
- Cancel at any time. The Owner can cancel in the app in one step. You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- 14-day refund. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, or within 14 days of a yearly renewal payment, we refund that payment in full.
- We do not give advice. Seventide keeps records, does calculations and explains the published rules. It does not give financial, legal, tax or medical advice. Decisions are yours.
- Your information is yours. You can download a full copy or delete it at any time.
- Your legal rights. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under consumer law.
1. About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Seventide. They apply to everyone who has a Seventide account. The parts about paying (sections 10 to 14) apply to the Owner, because only the Owner pays.
You agree to these terms when you create an account, and the Owner agrees to them again when they subscribe. If you do not agree, please do not use Seventide.
Our privacy notice explains how we use personal information in Seventide. It is a separate document, but you should read it alongside these terms.
These terms are only available in English.
2. Who we are and how to contact us
Seventide is run by Pro Dev Dynamics Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10518869). Our registered office is 1 Richmond Road, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1PE, United Kingdom. Our VAT number is GB262808690. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZB174979).
When these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, they mean Pro Dev Dynamics Ltd.
- Email: support@seventide.app. This is the quickest way to reach us.
- Post: Pro Dev Dynamics Ltd, 1 Richmond Road, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1PE, United Kingdom.
- Website: seventide.app. App: app.seventide.app.
How we contact you. We will contact you by email at the address on your account, or by a notice in the app. Please keep your email address up to date.
3. Some words we use
- Workspace: the shared, private space a family sets up in Seventide.
- The Principal: the older person the workspace is about. This is usually a parent.
- Owner: the person who set up the workspace, or the person it was handed to. There is one Owner per workspace. The Owner is the customer who pays.
- Members: everyone who has been invited to a workspace, including family members, attorneys, deputies and professionals.
- Subscription: the paid plan for a workspace.
- Paid period: the month or year that the latest subscription payment covers.
4. What Seventide is, and what it is not
What Seventide does
Seventide helps a family keep records for an older relative in one shared, private place. You can keep records of gifts and the 7-year Inheritance Tax rule, care fees and care funding, evidence for NHS Continuing Healthcare and Attendance Allowance, Lasting Power of Attorney and deputyship records, attorney decisions, and important documents. It can create packs and exports for the council, the NHS, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), the Office of the Public Guardian or an executor, and it reminds you when something is due.
Seventide works out figures from the information you enter and the published rules. Each figure shows the tax year it applies to and when the rule was last checked. We update the rules when they change, at no extra cost.
What Seventide does not do
- It does not give advice. Seventide does not give financial, legal, tax or medical advice. It does not recommend products or tell you what to do with money or property. Every calculation is based on the information you entered and the published rules. It is not advice.
- We are not a regulated adviser. We are not a firm of solicitors, accountants, tax advisers or financial advisers, and we are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to give financial advice. For decisions about trusts, investments, annuities, selling a home or equity release, speak to a qualified, regulated specialist.
- It does not move money. Seventide never moves money, makes payments or changes anything at a bank.
- It does not act for you. Seventide does not send forms or claims to HMRC, the council, the NHS, the Office of the Public Guardian or anyone else. You decide what to send and who to send it to.
- It is not a medical service. Health diaries are records for evidence. They are not checked by a clinician. In an emergency, call 999. For medical questions, speak to a GP or call NHS 111.
- Legal duties stay with you. Attorneys, deputies and executors keep their own legal duties, for example to keep accounts and act in the Principal’s best interests. Seventide helps you keep records, but it does not carry out those duties for you.
Care funding rules differ between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Seventide uses the rules for the nation the Principal lives in. Where part of the app has not yet been fully adapted for a nation, it says so.
What you need
Seventide works in an up-to-date web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your home screen. You need an internet connection and an email address. Some features work offline, as described in the app.
5. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to have a Seventide account.
- Give us true details. Your account is for you alone. Do not share it or sign in as someone else.
- Signing in. We do not use passwords. You sign in with a passkey, or with a link or a 6-digit code that we email to you. You can also add an authenticator app as a second step, and we recommend it.
- Keep your account safe. Anyone who can open your email can sign in as you, so keep your email account and your devices secure. If you think someone else has got into your account, sign out your other devices in your security settings and tell us straight away.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account, unless it happened because we did not keep Seventide reasonably secure.
6. Workspaces, Owners and members
Setting up a workspace. The person who sets up a workspace becomes its Owner. A workspace is about one Principal.
Members. One subscription covers up to 5 members, including the Owner, plus the Principal. The Principal does not count towards the 5. Invitations that have not been accepted yet count towards the limit.
Who sees what. The Owner decides who to invite and what each member can see. The Owner, attorneys and the Principal can see everything in the workspace. The Principal, if they have an account, can always see every record about themselves.
The Owner’s responsibilities. If you are the Owner, you are responsible for:
- inviting only people who should see the records you share with them;
- choosing carefully what each member can see, especially health records;
- removing people when they should no longer have access, for example if an attorney’s authority ends.
Handing over a workspace. The Owner can hand the workspace to another member with “Transfer ownership”. The subscription and the payment card stay as they are until the new Owner changes them under “Manage billing”. If you hand over a workspace and want your card to stop being charged, ask the new Owner to change the card, or email us and we will help.
When a member leaves. Records a member added stay in the workspace, because they are part of the family’s record.
7. Information about the Principal and other people
Most information in a workspace is about the Principal, who may not have an account. Before you add it:
- Follow the steps the app asks for. If the Principal can make their own decisions, the app asks for their agreement. If they cannot, an attorney or deputy must make a declaration and upload their Lasting Power of Attorney, Enduring Power of Attorney or court order. Nobody can add health records until the right agreement or declaration is in place.
- Only make declarations that are true. If you make a declaration in Seventide, you are confirming that it is true to the best of your knowledge.
- Keep it up to date. If things change, for example the Principal becomes able to decide for themselves or an attorney’s authority ends, update or withdraw the agreement or declaration in the app.
- Use the information properly. Only add information about the Principal, or about other people such as gift recipients, that you are entitled to have and that is needed for the family’s records. Use it in the Principal’s interests.
Our privacy notice explains how we handle this information, our legal reasons for doing so, and the rights of everyone named in a workspace.
8. Using Seventide properly
You must not:
- use Seventide for anything unlawful, or to help anyone take advantage of the Principal or misuse their money;
- add information you have no right to have, or upload anything you do not have the right to share;
- see, or try to see, information you have not been given access to;
- upload viruses or harmful files, or try to break, overload or get around Seventide’s security;
- copy, scrape or resell Seventide, or use it to build a competing product;
- harass or threaten other members, or use Seventide to send unwanted messages;
- set up new workspaces just to get another free trial.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@seventide.app and do not test it further.
9. Your information and our content
Your information is yours. The records and documents you add belong to you and your family. We do not claim ownership of them.
What you allow us to do with it. You give us permission to store, encrypt, back up and process your information only as needed to run Seventide for you. This includes reading text from your documents so you can search them, showing records to the members the Owner allows, creating the packs you ask for and sending reminders. The privacy notice explains this in full. This permission ends when the information is deleted, apart from encrypted backups, which are deleted automatically within 35 days.
We never sell your information, and we do not show adverts.
Keep your originals. Seventide is a place to keep copies. Keep original documents, such as a will or a registered Lasting Power of Attorney, somewhere safe.
Our content. The Seventide app, its design, and our explanations, letters, templates and rule sets belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use the packs, letters and exports you create for your family’s affairs, and share them with anyone you choose, such as the council, the NHS, HMRC or a solicitor. You must not copy or sell the app or its content.
Ideas and feedback. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Seventide without paying you.
10. Free trial
- Every new workspace gets a 14-day free trial with every feature switched on.
- You do not need to give a card or any payment details.
- The trial does not turn into a paid subscription on its own. You only pay if the Owner chooses a plan.
- We remind the Owner in the app before the trial ends.
- If nobody subscribes, the workspace becomes read-only when the trial ends. Nothing is deleted. Everyone can still see every record, download everything or delete it. You cannot add new entries or create packs until the Owner subscribes, and then everything comes back.
11. Plans and prices
| Plan | Price, including VAT | Who can choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Family plan, paid monthly | £5.99 a month | Any workspace |
| Family plan, paid yearly | £59.99 a year | Any workspace |
| Archive plan | £1.99 a month | Only after a date of death has been recorded |
- Prices include VAT and are in pounds sterling. There are no other charges from us. If the VAT rate changes, any change to our prices follows section 15.
- The Family plan includes every feature, for up to 5 members including the Owner, plus the Principal. It includes every pack and export, the document vault, and rule updates each tax year.
- The Archive plan keeps the records safe and readable after a death, for the executor and family, at a lower price.
- The price you pay is the price shown in the app when you subscribe.
12. Paying for a subscription
Who can subscribe. Only the Owner can subscribe, change plan or cancel. You do this in the app under More, then Subscription. To subscribe, the Owner must live in the UK and must be using Seventide for personal or family purposes, not for a business.
How you pay. Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment provider, on Stripe’s own secure payment page. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe’s terms also apply to your payments.
When your contract starts. Your subscription starts when your first payment goes through and the app confirms it. We confirm your subscription by email.
How long it lasts, and renewal. Your subscription lasts for one month or one year, depending on the plan. It renews automatically for another month or year, and you are charged again on the renewal date, until it is cancelled. The renewal date is shown on the Subscription page.
Receipts and invoices. Stripe emails a receipt for each payment. The Owner can download invoices and change the payment card under Manage billing.
Changing plan. The Owner can switch plan on the Subscription page, for example from monthly to yearly. The new plan starts straight away. You get credit for unused time on your current plan, and the difference is taken from your payment card. If the credit is more than the new charge, for example when moving from yearly to monthly, the rest is kept as credit and used for your next payments. If you cancel while you still have unused credit, ask us and we will refund it.
If a payment fails. Stripe tries the payment again over the following days and emails the Owner. We also tell the Owner in the app. Everything keeps working while Stripe tries again. If the payment still cannot be taken, the subscription ends and the workspace becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted, and the Owner can subscribe again at any time.
13. Reminders before renewal
- Yearly plans. We email the Owner a reminder at least 14 days before each yearly renewal. It tells you the renewal date, the price and how to cancel.
- Monthly plans. We remind the Owner in the app 7 days before each renewal, and Stripe emails a receipt after each payment showing what was charged. The Subscription page always shows the price, the next renewal date and how to cancel.
- Free trial. No reminder is needed before your trial ends, because it never turns into a paid subscription on its own. We still remind you in the app.
14. Cancelling and refunds
Cancelling
The Owner can cancel at any time, in any of these ways:
- in the app, under More, then Subscription, then Cancel the subscription;
- on Stripe’s page under Manage billing;
- by emailing support@seventide.app.
In the app you can tell us why you are leaving, to help us improve, but you do not have to.
When you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the paid period, and no more payments are taken. After that, the workspace becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted. You can still see everything, download it or delete it, and you can subscribe again at any time.
14-day refund
You can get a full refund if the Owner cancels:
- within 14 days of the first payment for a subscription;
- within 14 days of a yearly renewal payment; or
- within 14 days of a payment to move to the yearly plan.
We refund the whole of that payment, even if you used Seventide during those 14 days.
How to ask. Email support@seventide.app before the 14 days end. Tell us the email address of the Owner’s account and that you want to cancel and get a refund. You can also cancel in the app first, but please still email us so we know you want a refund. You can use the form at the end of these terms if you like, but you do not have to.
What happens next. We refund you within 14 days of your request, to the card or other payment method you used. We do not charge a fee. The subscription ends straight away and the workspace becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted.
This goes further than your legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which lasts 14 days from the day after your contract is made. It also covers a yearly renewal.
Outside the 14 days
If you cancel at any other time, we do not refund the rest of the paid period, but no more payments are taken. Monthly renewal payments are not refunded.
This does not apply, and you may be entitled to a refund, if:
- Seventide is faulty or we have not provided it with reasonable care and skill (section 18);
- we make a change to Seventide, our prices or these terms that is to your disadvantage (section 15);
- we end your subscription for a reason that is not your fault (section 17); or
- you have unused credit from a plan change (section 12).
15. Changes to prices, to Seventide and to these terms
Prices
If we change a price, we will email the Owner at least 30 days before the new price applies to them. Your subscription keeps its current price until your first renewal after the notice period ends. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before then, and you will not be charged the new price. If you are on a yearly plan, you can also use the 14-day refund after the renewal.
Seventide
We regularly improve Seventide, fix problems and update the rules when the law changes. We may make these changes without telling you in advance.
If we make a change that significantly reduces what you get, or remove a main feature, we will tell the Owner at least 30 days before. You can then cancel, and we will refund any payment you have made for the time after the subscription ends.
These terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect a change in the law, a new feature or a change to how we run Seventide. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies. If the change is to your disadvantage, we will refund any payment for the time after the subscription ends. We may make small changes, such as correcting mistakes or making the wording clearer, without telling you in advance. The version and date are shown at the top.
16. Keeping Seventide running and secure
We do our best to keep Seventide available at all times. Sometimes we need to stop it for a short time, for maintenance or to fix a problem. We do this at quiet times where we can, and we will tell you in advance about planned work that takes Seventide offline for a long time.
We protect your information with encryption, UK data centres, strict access checks and regular backups. The privacy notice explains this in full. No system is perfectly secure, so we recommend downloading a full copy of your workspace from time to time.
You are responsible for your own devices, internet connection and email account.
17. Ending your account or workspace
If you want to leave
- Cancel the subscription at any time (section 14).
- Delete your account under More, then Your data. If you are an Owner, you must first delete your workspaces or hand them to someone else. If you signed an attorney decision with others, we remove your name and email address but keep the signed decision, so the family’s legal record stays complete.
- Delete the workspace. Only the Owner can do this, from More, then Your data. You can delete it straight away or schedule it for up to 30 days later. Deleting a workspace also ends its subscription and no more payments are taken. If a payment is taken by mistake after you have asked us to delete a workspace, we will refund it.
If we suspend or close an account or workspace
We may suspend or close an account or workspace if:
- someone seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, for example by making a false declaration or misusing the Principal’s information;
- we need to, to protect the Principal, other members or Seventide’s security; or
- the law requires us to.
Where we can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put things right, unless the problem is serious or urgent. If we close a subscription for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund any payment for the time after it ends. If we close it because you broke these terms, we will not take any more payments.
If we ever stop providing Seventide altogether, we will give at least 90 days’ notice, refund any payment for the time after the service ends, and give you time to download your information.
What happens to your information
- When a trial or subscription ends, the workspace becomes read-only. We do not delete it. You can view, download or delete everything, and the Owner can subscribe again.
- When the Owner deletes a workspace, we delete all its records and documents and destroy its encryption key within 30 days. Encrypted backups are deleted automatically within 35 days. The Owner can download a deletion certificate.
- After the Principal dies, the Owner can keep the workspace as an archive. By default this is for 7 years after the date of death, and the Owner can choose between 1 and 25 years or delete it sooner. We remind the Owner 90 days before the period ends.
- If we close a workspace, we will tell the Owner and give them at least 30 days to download a full copy, unless the law stops us. We will then delete it in the way the privacy notice describes.
A full download is available to the Owner, the Principal and attorneys whose document has been recorded, even when the workspace is read-only. The privacy notice explains how long we keep each kind of information.
18. If something goes wrong
Your legal rights
We must provide Seventide with reasonable care and skill, and the app must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, please tell us. We will try to put it right, and if we cannot, you may be entitled to some or all of your money back. For more about your rights, contact Citizens Advice (or Advice Direct Scotland in Scotland, or Consumerline in Northern Ireland). Nothing in these terms affects these rights.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you agreed to these terms. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.
What we are not responsible for
- Decisions you make. Seventide gives information, not advice, and you decide what to do. We are not responsible for loss caused by information that you or other members entered being wrong or incomplete, or by circumstances the app could not know about. This does not limit our responsibility if a calculation is wrong because we did not use reasonable care and skill.
- Business losses. Seventide is for personal and family use. We are not responsible to you for any loss of profit, loss of business or loss of business opportunity.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or problems caused by events we could not reasonably control, such as a widespread internet or power failure. If this happens, we will tell you and do what we reasonably can to limit the effect.
What we never exclude
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
19. Professional members
Families can invite professionals, such as solicitors, advisers or care fees specialists, into their workspace. If you use Seventide in the course of your work:
- you do not pay us, and the consumer rights in these terms apply to you only as far as the law requires;
- you remain responsible for your own professional duties, including the advice you give, and for how you use any information you download from Seventide;
- to the extent the law allows, we are not liable to you for any loss of profit, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to £100.
Section 18, “What we never exclude”, still applies to you.
20. Complaints
If you are unhappy with Seventide, please tell us at support@seventide.app, so we can put things right. Please tell us what went wrong and the email address of your account.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to give you a full answer within 30 days. If it will take longer, we will keep you updated.
We are not currently part of an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. If we cannot settle your complaint, we will tell you in writing, and you can get free advice from the organisations named in section 18. You can also go to court (section 21).
For complaints about how we use personal information, see section 14 of the privacy notice. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
21. Other legal terms
- Transferring this agreement. We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you, and make sure the transfer does not reduce your rights. If you are unhappy with it, you can cancel and we will refund any payment for the time after the subscription ends. You may not transfer your rights under these terms, except by handing over a workspace in the app (section 6).
- Nobody else has rights under these terms. Only you and we can enforce them.
- If part of these terms is not valid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Which law applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring legal proceedings in the Scottish courts, or in the courts of England. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring legal proceedings in the Northern Irish courts, or in the courts of England. You also keep the protection of any rules of the law where you live that cannot be changed by agreement.
22. Form for cancelling
You do not have to use this form. An email to support@seventide.app saying you want to cancel is enough. If you would like to use it, copy it into an email or letter:
